A drive to explore Exmoor, Devon
A 50 mile car tour, starting at the sea at Lynmouth, taking in parts of Exmoor,
then returning to Lynmouth
- From Lynmouth, Devon up the hill to
Lynton, Devon . The road takes you
past the beautiful rock formations in the Valley of the Rocks after a mile.
- Take the toll road past Woody Bay and to Martinhoe, where you turn inland,
via Killington and Blackmoor Gate (here you can turn off to visit the National
Trust property of Arlington Court or the
Exmoor Bird Gardens
- Follow the A300 for around 15 miles, turning off through South Moulton
- Take the A361 out of South Moulton, via North Moulton, then onto Exmoor
to get to Simonsbath in the heart of the moor
- The B3223 will then take you back to Lynmouth, pausing to see Watersmeet
perhaps on the way
